Suit-Up it's Game Time

Suit-Up it's Game Time

Games you can dress up to play!  When I promote our Witch Door Game based on Trick or Treating, I tell parents the kids can play while dressing up.  This leads me to think about what other board games you could play dressed up.  Given I am writing this at the fourth week of staying at home during the pandemic my first thought is “The Operation Game”.  Players would dress up as health care workers.  A big THANK YOU to our healthcare workers during this time period.  They are truly heroes.

The Clue game, a classic detective game, is a great choice to play in a dress up mode.  Because the characters are color based.  It is easy to have simple or complex costumes from items you have around the house.

The characters in the North American Clue game are as follows: Miss Scarlet (red piece) Professor Plum (purple piece) Mrs. Peacock (blue piece) Reverend/Mr. Green (green piece) Colonel Mustard (yellow piece) Mrs. White/Dr. Orchid (white piece)

Little girls love to play dress up.  In the book, “A Gentleman in Moscow” by Amor Towles, a young girl  meets our hero by discussing being a princess.  Here is a board game based on dressing up as a princess.

My husband belongs to a Klingon group who dress up for conventions, dining at restaurants and going to movies.  Here is a vintage game, Star Trek : The Next Generation : A Klingon Challenge (1995) you might want to dress up as a Klingon to play.

Last but not least, wearing hats can be an easy, but fun way to dress up.  Check out the Black Hat game. Black Hat is available on Amazon.

Hats can be a simple ball cap or a fancy top hat.  Here is a cool black hat you could purchase on Etsy from EmilyWayHats.

Have fun dressing up while playing your favorite games! Stay safe and healthy.
